Before his time in Nashville, even before his time in New York City, James spent 25 years in Wisconsin. For 10 of those years, he toured as the frontman for an independent rock band called Union Pulse.
The group played about 700 concerts, hitting all 48 lower states, and released 4 studio albums and 3 compilations including some previously unreleased material.
Union Pulse was was a sort of revolving door for musicians. Over the course of a decade, 70 band members came and went. The majority played either bass or drums.
Some career highlights included regular radio rotation, surpassing a million streams on Spotify, and working with national acts like Pleasure Club, Mosquitos, and Blue Mountain.
From a feature film to a vinyl record, from an intimate concert to a national tour, it's impossible to acknowledge every person whose contributions were instrumental to making any creative endeavor into a reality. But every drummer, bass player, keyboardist, lead guitarist, rhythm guitarist, singer, website designer, sticker printer, t-shirt maker, spouse or significant other, listener, financial supporter, and friend really played a part in bringing the music to life.
